The deep research feature operates like having a dedicated analyst who creates detailed investigation plans, sources multiple references, and compiles findings into structured reports. I start by asking Gemini to research historical stock market performance across different political configurations—unified governments, divided governments, and various party combinations. Watch as the platform creates a detailed research plan, then methodically investigates multiple sources while showing its thought process in real-time. The resulting report includes comprehensive data tables spanning back to 1857, complete with source citations and appropriate compliance disclaimers. Then comes the transformation magic: using Canvas, I convert this research into a client-friendly newsletter, compress it into a shortened version, generate a visually striking infographic with charts and sector analysis, and create an audio overview featuring two AI hosts discussing the findings in conversational dialogue.
